Public Policy
One of HARA's strengths is its advocacy for public policy issues at the state and national level to promote and preserve the interests of seniors and retirees. HARA can rely on the expertise of the staff and other resources of the 3.5 million member Alliance for Retired Americans (ARA) a national advocate for seniors.
For public policy positions adopted by
the HARA Convention and the HARA Board of
Directors, please click on "Legislative
Program" on the left column listing of
subjects on this page.
For public policy statements of our national affiliate, the ARA, go to the ARA Home page: www.retiredamericans.org and click on "Retiree Resources" for ARA resolutions, fact sheets, reports and briefs, more useful links, and even "Internet Basics" a good primer for seniors learning to use the internet.
For past and current updates on ARA
activities and on national senior issues, click
on "Friday Alert" on either the ARA or HARA
home pages. Each issue of the Alert
covers several current
topics.
